Ruston Jones - Writer/Director

     Ruston Jones grew up in New Mexico, where he gained a love of photography while capturing images of the surrounding red rock landscape. From a young age, Ruston acted in Community Theater and nurtured his love of story telling.

     In film school he discovered a talent for screenwriting. He took every screenwriting class that he could get into, experimenting with different styles and genres. 

     Ruston began his professional career in public television where he honed his directing, cinematography and editing skills. He began with Tales from the Trail, a hiking and mountain biking series. His work has also branched a documentary about the fight against malaria in Ghana, a behind the scenes film of the Utah Shakespearean Festival’s traveling company, an inside look at the Chechen warrior culture, animated films, commercials, educational films for several universities, and short films for museums, including the Museum of Utah Art and History.

Ruston’s love of visual storytelling has combined with his love of travel. He has seen the world through a camera, filming all across the U.S., as well as in Canada, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Ghana, Mali, China, Russia, France, Switzerland, Italy and Greece.

     Most recently Ruston wrote and directed “El Murciélago,” a short horror film based on “The Monkey’s Paw” by W.W. Jacobs. The film is currently being screened in film festivals, and has been nominated for numerous awards.

     Ruston has continued to hone his craft as a screenwriter, constantly driven to put to paper the stories that inhabit his imagination. His fifth feature-length screenplay, “The Sword of the Golden City” is currently in development.

Ruston has a B.A. in film from Brigham Young University, where for nine years he taught advanced film editing.

Troy Selk - Producer

     Troy Selk grew up in Southern Alberta Canada, in the home of an artistically talented mother and an entrepreneurial father, where he developed a love of the arts and business while working in the family art and drafting supply business. 

     Though his studies in college focused on marriage and family therapy, a part time job while at Brigham Young University, beginning in 1991 led to a career as a University Administrator at BYU that spanned 18 years. While at BYU he was give the opportunity to produce a variety of multimedia projects and discovered a love for the creative process. On one project alone, Troy managed shoots that spanned such varied locations as Vancouver, Canada; Boston, Massachusetts; and Laie Hawaii.  

     Troy’s career in private education gave him the ability to produce videos for both Public and Private Universities and State organizations where he honed his Production chops. 

Troy last production “El Murcelago”, a short Horror film is going through jurying at several Film Festivals and he is currently working on the development production of, “The Sword of the Golden City” written by Ruston Jones which is currently in development.

     Troy has a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University
